Sheryl Owens Welch

FEBRUARY 27, 1947 – JANUARY 25, 2022

SHERYL “SHERI” OWENS WELCH Sheri, a long time resident of Clearwater, Florida, died suddenly January 25, 2022 at the age of 74. She was born on February 27, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Clearwater High School, Class of ’65. On February 12, 1967 she married her husband of 55 years, Don Welch, who was in the Army at that time. For the next 20 years, Sheri loved being an Army wife, relocating every 3 or 4 years, meeting new people and making new friends, some of whom remain good friends to this day. Sheri and Don returned to Clearwater in 1986 and have lived there since. After their return to Clearwater, Sheri worked for Park, Bugg, Rodnite and Ossian Law Firm starting as the Receptionist and working her way up to Office Manager. Later she worked at St. Paul’s School in the Administrative Office and then as Assistant Librarian.
Sheri was an outgoing, kind, thoughtful, caring person who was generous with her time and friendliness. Her charismatic demeanor and laugh were infectious, and people loved being around her.
Sheri is survived by her husband, Don Welch; daughter, Renee Mansfield; 2 granddaughters, Sherilyn Mansfield and Shayna Walker; and a great granddaughter, Abigail Skye Preston. Also her extended family of Lynn (sister), Don and Matt Nelson; Pat (brother), Evelyn and Chaz Owens and Al and Debbie Welch.
