Remodel of Jack Russell Stadium

On Friday, March 3, 2017 at 6:45 pm, a ribbon cutting ceremony took place at Jack Russell Stadium, prior to the Clearwater Tornadoes home opener to commemorate the remodel of Jack Russell Stadium, and the community partnership between City of Clearwater, Pinellas County Schools, Clearwater High School, Saint Petersburg College, CHS Batter-up Club, the Philadelphia Phillies, The Toronto Blue Jays, the Tampa Bay Rays, and Clearwater For Youth. All of these organizations were present, and have made contributions and commitments to make this happen!

This partnership is all about developing a legendary historic site where some of the most famous baseball players have played, into a site future legends from our community can play. Although the Clearwater Tornadoes have played on this field before, Friday night marked the first night in 112 years that the Tornadoes were able to play on their own field!

Although our team did not win, it was quite evident all had a great time, and are working towards a great year!
